Dr. Janet Pragit D.O.

Dr. Janet Pragit is a board-trained osteopathic physician with more than 20 years of experience helping patients restore balance, vitality, and long-term wellness through personalized hormone care. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Physiology and Neuroscience from UC San Diego and went on to receive her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Western University in Pomona, California. Dr. Pragit completed her Family Practice residency at Midwestern University/Tempe St. Luke’s in Phoenix.

With a deep focus on anti-aging and functional medicine, Dr. Pragit specializes in bio-identical hormone therapy, thyroid optimization, and peptide therapies for both men and women. Her approach is rooted in addressing underlying imbalances—not just symptoms—so patients can feel their best at every stage of life.

Dr. Pragit believes healthcare works best as a partnership. She is passionate about educating and empowering patients to take a proactive role in their health, working collaboratively to achieve optimal, sustainable results.

JoEllen Schimmels, DNP, RN, PMHNP-BC, FAAN

JoEllen “Ellen” Schimmels is an Army Veteran and board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to empowering individuals through trauma-informed, evidence-based mental health care. A nurse since 1998, Ellen brings over two decades of experience across clinical, academic, administrative, and strategic healthcare settings.

During more than 20 years of active-duty service in the U.S. Army, Ellen worked extensively with individuals facing complex mental health challenges while advocating, mentoring, and leading system-level improvements across the military health system. She is highly trained in cognitive behavioral therapies—including CBT for insomnia, trauma-focused CBT, suicide prevention—along with prolonged exposure, cognitive processing therapy, and accelerated resolution therapy.

A passionate mental health advocate and Clinical Professor, Ellen has presented and published on topics including anxiety, trauma, substance use, well-being, telehealth, education, and suicide prevention. Her collaborative, compassionate approach is grounded in helping patients feel supported, understood, and empowered as they move toward improved mental health and lasting resilience.

Mark Goforth, MHP-FNP

Mark Goforth is a family and psychiatric medical provider with a strong focus on substance use recovery and outpatient mental health care. Originally from Pennsylvania, Mark relocated to Arizona in 1998 and has since dedicated his career to helping individuals regain stability, health, and confidence in their lives. He completed his Family Medicine training in 2013 and expanded his expertise into psychiatry in 2018.

Mark has extensive experience in substance use treatment, including Level I detox services and Level II emergency medicine, allowing him to support patients across a wide range of recovery and mental health needs. His passion for recovery work is deeply personal—shaped by growing up in an environment affected by alcoholism—which drives his compassionate, patient-centered approach.

Outside of clinical practice, Mark is an avid sports enthusiast who values staying active, spending time with family, and traveling. He is deeply committed to helping patients become the best versions of themselves through thoughtful care, encouragement, and long-term support.
